I used to be an organic unsalted peanut butter JUNKIE! I would go through a container... let's just say I go through a container fast. But I have ventured out (thanks to the recommendation from a client) and have turned to almond butter... it is wonderful.
I feel that I need less to satisfy my cravings. So now my curiosity has me thinking about the nutritional differences between peanut and almond butter. Lets check it out!
I am going to compare Organic Unsalted Trader Joes PB and Raw Creamy Unsalted Almond Butter.
Some nutritional differences are...
1. Almond butter has fewer calories per spoon full, yet more total fat compared to PB.
2. Almond butter has less saturated fat.
3. Peanut butter has more protein.
4. Almond butter has more calcium.
Almond butter contains omega-3 fatty acids while peanut butter contains omega-6 fatty acid. Our body can not make these fatty acids on their own, thus we must get them from our diet.
