apples in the oven!

Yesterday my mom gave me a bag of hand-picked apples!  I don't follow directions very well, so making an apple pie, crisp or anything else with more than 2 steps would be a disaster.  This is what I did instead: Easy. Fast. And oh so YUMMY!

1. preheat oven to 325-ish

2. slice apples thin-ish

3. place on baking sheet  and put in toaster oven (if you have one). Toaster ovens are smaller so they heat up faster and use less energy. Let them sit for about 20-25 minutes or until you love them.

*when I say baking sheet I mean tin foil. You can coat tin foil with non stick product if you feel

*I like to sprinkle cinnamon on the apple slices before I place them in the oven.  Makes the BEST treat.. and so healthy!  An apple is about 60-80 calories.  ENJOY!

high fructose corn syrup.. name change!

Regardless of your thoughts on the consumption of high fructose corn syrup you should take note of the recent name change to corn sugar. The Corn Refiners Association has applied for permission to use this name on all food labels (this could take up to two years to pass).  Advertisements have already started using the new Corn Sugar name. Be aware, check your labels, and know what you are putting in your body!

Joyaras Photography

It was the perfect day, with the perfect photographer!  Not only a friend, but a wonderful photographer, Sara Golden (Joyaras Photography) and I decided to take on the city with a camera in hand... her hand!  Starting in the Seaport district, we made our way along the harbor and ended  our journey just at the tip of the North End. We got kicked out of some places, and cheered on at others.  The next day I was SO sore, still am. WOW.  Three hours of posing and leaping;  something I had not done in a while!  It was such a fun day,  that I am sure we will do it again.

You can enjoy Sara's photography at www.joyaras.com

Thank you Sara for filling my website with your wonderful talent!
